This project offered many challenges. The existing property consisted of several existing businesses and structures. Some of these structures needed to be open during the construction process while others could be removed. The project did not have direct access to public water or sewer and had a severely eroded outfall and eroding conditions in the downstream drainage path. This project required offsite easements, public water and sewer extensions, a pump station, State and County road improvements and a very aggressive schedule by the developer.
Extensive coordination with the developer and County and State staff were critical. The project was placed on an expedited review cycle with the County that allowed for quick review but also required quick re-submittals.
Sigma Engineering successfully navigated the review process along with managing sub-consultants to enable this project to come to fruition much sooner than can normally be achieved. The project has become a great success and the new available public water and sewer has spurred further development within the surrounding properties. |
