One of the few remaining large open areas left within this peninsula, the developer proposed to convert an older golf course into a regional sports complex for a local church. The design proposed numerous baseball, softball, tennis and multi-purpose fields. A centrally located club house and parking provided convenient access to all areas. The project included large areas within the critical area overlay zone, which were kept passive and unchanged. Combined with several stormwater wet ponds and meandering trails, both passive and active needs were addressed with this design. |
